Character voices (Pirate Captain, Robot Copilot, Wise Old Wizard, Hype Coach, Mission Control and more) live here now.
Low, Normal and High all listen to the room and adjust, like AirPods. Low ignores the most. Drag the slider to set it yourself. Clicks, taps and keys are ignored either way. Saved on this device.
The mic stays on the whole call, so you can talk over Iris any time. While the mic is on, iOS keeps Iris in call-style audio and won't give it full music volume, so Boosted makes Iris's own voice about 6 dB louder on the speaker without clipping. Still quiet? Try Speaker output: Media player. Changes apply on your next Talk. Saved on this device.
Not available yet: the live voice engine only speaks in its built-in voices, so an uploaded voice can't drive it. Presets and characters above are the closest option.
Iris uses these when it writes your requests for Iliad, so “Nina Solay” goes out as Niina Soleil. Your exact words are always kept with the request.
While Talk is on, your voice and the conversation go to the AI voice service that powers Iliad's voice, plus your Iris feed and brief as context. The mic only runs after you tap Talk; the 🎙 dot shows it's live, and End releases it. No audio is ever recorded or stored. Transcripts stay in this tab unless you turn saving on. Things you ask Iliad to do get passed to Iliad as notes.
… · daily limit set on Iris's server (Iliad can change it).
Optional. Live voice, the translator and spoken replies already work through Iliad, no key needed. If you'd rather run them on your own OpenAI API key, paste it here and it goes straight to your Iris's server. It's never shown again, and saving a new one replaces it.
